Abdomen/Pelvis Screen

The purpose of this test is to identify abnormalities and diseases at an early stage. Studies have shown that early detection of certain diseases may substantially increase the chance of recovery.

The Abdomen/Pelvis Screen views the following areas of the abdomen for early signs of cancer, other disease or abnormalities:

kidneys
liver
pancreas
abdominal aorta
thoracic aorta
adrenal glands
lymph nodes
stomach
small bowel
and spleen

Preparation:

The preparation of this procedure includes eating lightly the night before and day of screen. You will be asked to arrive two hours before your scheduled appointment time and drink an oral contrast for better visualization of your digestive system.
